CeramiStrike™ Ammunition – Deployment & Handling Protocol [Agency Name]

I. Purpose
To establish clear procedures for the authorized use, storage, training, and documentation of ForseMark CeramiStrike™ ceramic-tipped ammunition. This SOP ensures safe deployment, legal compliance, and tactical effectiveness in barrier-rich environments, particularly those involving glass and reinforced surfaces.

II. Scope
This SOP applies to all sworn personnel, tactical units, firearms instructors, and support staff involved in:
    • Vehicle interdiction and high-risk traffic stops
    • Tactical entries involving glass, metal, or composite barriers
    • Protective details operating in hardened urban environments
    • Scenario-based training involving specialty ammunition

III. Ammunition Description
Product: ForseMark CeramiStrike™
Type: Specialty Duty Round – Ceramic Tip
Caliber Options: 9mm (9X19, 9mm Luger)
Tip Composition: Proprietary ceramic alloy bonded to jacketed lead core

Performance Profile:

  • Penetrates auto glass and laminated barriers with minimal deflection
  • Produces expanded shrapnel dispersion post-barrier for threat disruption
  • Maintains trajectory integrity through angled or curved surfaces
  • Reduces ricochet risk compared to steel or copper-tipped alternatives

IV. Authorized Use
CeramiStrike™ may be deployed in the following scenarios:

  • Threat interdiction behind glass or reinforced panels
  • Tactical entries requiring barrier defeat through storefronts, windshields, or windows
  • Protective assignments in environments with hardened or ballistic-resistant architecture
  • Specialized interdiction missions requiring rapid threat neutralization through glass
  • Use must be documented in the operation plan and post-action report. Officers must assess backdrop conditions, penetration risk, and civilian proximity prior to engagement.

V. Training Requirements
All personnel authorized to deploy CeramiStrike™ must complete:

  • Ammunition familiarization (ceramic tip behavior, glass dynamics)
  • Platform-specific qualification using CeramiStrike™ rounds
  • Scenario-based training emphasizing deflection control and shrapnel management
  • Annual requalification and policy review
  • Training records must be maintained by the Firearms Training Unit and reviewed annually.

VI. Deployment Protocol
Confirm backdrop safety and barrier type prior to engagement
Use approved platforms with verified cycling reliability
Document round count and engagement conditions post-deployment
Report any deviation in performance or trajectory to Tactical Operations Command

VII. Storage & Inventory
Store CeramiStrike™ in secure, climate-controlled armory locations
Maintain separation from standard duty and training ammunition
Log inventory by lot number, quantity, and expiration date
Conduct quarterly audits and reconcile against deployment logs

VIII. Legal & Compliance
CeramiStrike™ is compliant with most state and federal law enforcement ammunition policies
Not classified as armor-piercing under ATF guidelines due to ceramic tip composition
Deployment must align with agency use-of-force policies and backdrop evaluation protocols
Officers must be briefed on jurisdictional restrictions regarding specialty ammunition

IX. Review & Accountability
Supervisors must ensure compliance with this SOP during all deployments
Deviations must be documented and reviewed by Tactical Operations Command

This SOP shall be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect changes in law, equipment, or operational best practices
